University Economics & Maths Tuition
University Economics & Maths Tuition
Every university student I've taught has achieved a 2:1 or above in the modules we covered.
University economics is a different game from A-Level: more mathematical, faster-paced, and with far less individual support. When lectures move on whether you understood or not, targeted one-to-one tuition changes everything.
I'm Mehdi Naqvi, UCL Economics BSc, First Class Honours. I tutor university students online in Economics and Mathematics, specialising in LSE and UCL because I know their course structures, module content and exam formats in detail, and I've taught students from Warwick, Bath, York, Loughborough, Regent's, Richmond American University London, St George's and many others. Beyond the content itself, I help with what nobody teaches at university: how to actually study: revision timetables, exam strategy, and managing the workload.
One thing matters before we start: send me your exact module outline. My core ground is economics, maths and statistics, but I also cover finance modules (financial markets, corporate finance) and selected electives, including international politics, because I chose a wide range of electives myself at UCL. Some modules I know inside out; some I don't teach. Send me the module code and outline and I'll tell you honestly which is which within a day, because the last thing you need is a tutor learning alongside you.
Message me on WhatsApp or fill in the form with your university, course and module(s). I reply within 24 hours.

My tutoring approach
I'm passionate about my work. Every student is a project in their own right, and my job is to maximise three things: their grade, their belief in themselves, and their interest in the subject. Whether it's a rapid turnaround before exams, ongoing support across the course, or complete delivery of the syllabus from scratch, I take real pride in delivering excellence to every student I take on. My approach rests on four pillars:
Module Mastery
We work from your actual materials: lecture notes, problem sets, past papers. LSE's EC201 is not UCL's ECON0013, and generic "economics help" doesn't survive contact with either. I teach your module, in your university's format and notation.
Exam Strategy
University exams reward technique as much as understanding: question selection, time allocation, and knowing what your examiners actually award marks for. We train on your university's real past papers under timed conditions.
Confidence
Surrounded by brilliant coursemates, many students silently conclude they're the one who doesn't belong, and start working scared. That mindset caps grades more than any content gap. I've taken students from a 2:2 mindset to First-Class results, and the shift in belief always comes first.
How You Work
Most students were never taught to study at university level. I build revision timetables around your exam calendar, teach techniques that hold up under a full module load, and keep you accountable week to week.

Lesson Fees
One to one online tuition: £240 per hour for university-level work.
Sessions are run with complete efficiency: no time is wasted and nothing is stretched out. My aim is simple: real understanding, and results that show in your module grades.
Most students take weekly sessions during term; intensive blocks are available before exam season, and they book out early.
Payment is by bank transfer, at least 48 hours before the session to confirm the booking.
Where my students come from
My university students come from across the UK and beyond, most from LSE and UCL, where I specialise, and also from:
Warwick · Bath · York · Loughborough · Regent's University London · Richmond American University London · St George's, University of London · and many others
If your university isn't listed, send me your module outline: the answer is usually yes for core economics, maths and statistics.
Where my students come from
Strong module grades compound: they decide your degree classification, and your classification opens doors. Students I've taught and mentored have gone on to top firms, including a summer internship at McKinsey, and I advise on the road beyond the degree too: internship applications, interviews, and direction. Yes. Half of university struggle is workload, not intellect. I help students build revision timetables, exam strategy and working habits that hold up under pressure.
-
Yes: exam-season intensives are one of the most common ways students use me. The earlier you book, the more slots I can offer.
-
Yes, including complete delivery of the full A-Level Economics syllabus from scratch. Homeschooled students I have taught this way have achieved A*s.
-
Yes. I have extensive experience supporting students with dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADHD, dysgraphia and other learning differences, and I'm trained in a range of teaching techniques, so the approach adapts to the student rather than the other way round. I find how each student learns best, and teach that way.

Small group sessions can be arranged, for example friends or students of similar level preparing for the same exam. Contact me to discuss.
