University Economics & Maths Tutor (LSE & UCL Specialist)

University economics is a different game from A-Level: more mathematical, faster-paced, and with far less individual support. When lectures move on whether you understood or not, targeted one-to-one tuition changes everything.

I'm Mehdi Naqvi, UCL Economics BSc, First Class Honours. I tutor university students online in Economics and Mathematics, specialising in LSE and UCL, because I know their course structures, module content and exam formats in detail. Every university student I've taught has achieved a 2:1 or above in the modules we covered.

Message me on WhatsApp with your university, course and module: I reply within 24 hours.

What I help with

  • Microeconomics and Macroeconomics (intermediate and advanced modules)
  • Quantitative methods, mathematics and statistics for economists
  • Econometrics (selected modules)
  • Exam preparation: past-paper strategy for your university's exact format
  • Problem sets: building genuine understanding, not answer-copying

If you're at another university, send me your module outline: if I'm confident I can add real value, I'll say yes; if not, I'll tell you honestly.

Why students choose a specialist

Generic "economics help" doesn't work at university level. LSE's EC201 is not UCL's ECON0013. The value I bring is knowing what your examiners ask, how your problem sets are structured, and where students on your course typically lose marks. That's why my university students are mostly from LSE and UCL, and why they get results.

There's a quieter problem I fix too: confidence. Surrounded by brilliant coursemates, many students silently conclude they're the one who doesn't belong, and start working scared, aiming to survive rather than excel. That mindset caps grades more than any content gap. I've taken students from a 2:2 mindset to First-Class results, and the shift in belief always comes first.

Results

  • 100% of university students achieved 2:1 or above in modules taught
  • Students improved from 2:2 range to Firsts

"Mehdi is a very patient teacher and has helped me to understand some aspects of maths that I couldn't before. I highly recommend him." — Student, University College London (module grade: 71%, a First)
